Alright, I am soooo excited to write this little game review for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire! I've always loved Pokémon, but I've have never been so into the series as I am now :) The first Pokémon game I ever played was Pokémon Emerald for the GameBoy Advanced, which was the companion game to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire for the GBA. Alpha Sapphire is a actually a remake of the original Sapphire game for the GBA, that's been translated into the amazing new 3DS graphics platform, which was developed first for Pokémon X and Y in 2013. Compared to the old graphics used in the original games, the new 3DS gameplay is tootttaallllyyyy amazing and I really love seeing how far Pokémon has come. BUT YA, its so cool seeing this remake, and experiencing the Hoenn Region (name of the region in the Pokémon world where this game takes place) in the new graphics. Makes for a really immersive gaming experience.
Basically, Pokémon is a a game where you go on an adventure and encounter different creatures, catch them, and battle with them (whether against wild Pokémon, other trainers, or bad guys). You also challenge gym leaders in order to earn trainer badges, and your ultimate goal is to become the Pokémon Champion by defeating a group of trainers called "The Elite Four," as well as the existing champion. Oh. And you can catch 'em all. Duh. LOL there are many different dynamics in the game that make it challenging, like all of the different Pokémon "types", of which there are currently 18. Some of these types are Grass, Fire, Water, Rock, Ghost, Psychic, etc. Certain types have advantages or disadvantages over others in battles, which gets you to strategize your gameplay and team-building in order to be successful in battles. Each Pokémon also has a unique distribution of "Stats" which gives them a whole other level of advantages and disadvantages, and there are also certain "Natures" and "Abilities" that add to this dynamic. For me, I find the stats and natures stuff to be a bit too confusing, and I don't pay much attention to it during my gameplay. I find that if I focus enough on just the typing, that works well enough for me :) LOL hardcore fans would probably be annoyed by that, but whatevaaaa, you can play how ever you want. It can be as complicated or as uncomplicated as you make it to be. There are still more components to this game that I could go on and on about, like breeding, evolutions, mega-evolutions, move-sets, online-battling, trading, and a multitude of other things, but since that would take a million years, and because I'm not particularly an expert on any of them, I'll just stop there.
I love this game sooo so much, and obviously, there are many different things yo do. Although I love almost all aspects of this game, my favourite things to do are fight the gym leaders and earn badges, collect/catch my favourite pokémon, and level up and evolve my pokémon (the evolution cut-scenes are so exciting! ahh!). Some of things that I didn't absolutely love were the region (which had to many fricken water routes - something that a lot of people don't like about the Hoenn region), and the Elite 4 trainers and battles. None of them really stood out and WOW I had such a hard time beating Glacia (stupid Ice types). The Champion, Steven, is totally awesome though! Plus the "starter pokémon" that you get to choose from at the beginning of the game are some of my favourite starters! I chose Treecko because he's adorable and because he's a grass type, which is sweet. LOL Anyywaaayyy, this game gets a 5/5 obviously, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Ugggg there is still so much more that I want to say about this game but I should probably stop before this post gets out of hand. But basically, if you haven't already checked this game out, you totally should! Even if you've never played a Pokémon game before, you'll have no problem getting into this one (even if the mechanics seem a little confusing at first, you'll start figuring out the typing system in no time) and I'm sure you will really enjoy it :)

ALSO, one last thing that I thought would be cool LOL. This is the team I used to challenge the Elite Four the first time though. YAY they are some of my favourite Pokémon! The top row from right to left are Ninetales, Vaporeon, and Espeo, and on the bottom row from right to left we have Sceptile, Gardevoir, and Banette :) Love them!
