Well oh my goodness, a few days ago I decided to pick up a graphic novel for the hell of it and wowowow now I am completely obsessed! Comics are so much fun, like how have I been missing out on this for so long!? I started out last week with an AMAZING trade paperback collection of the first five issues of Rat Queens (which is still my favourite so far), and now, in less than a week, I've read four other collections of other series as well (all of which I've posted cover pics of down below). Like I cannot get enough! And I've been researching other series and stories that I want to get into and gaahhh. Just so good, and so addicting! Anyway, thought I'd just write a quick little update on this new discovery cause I'm just so excited about it! Definitely going to try to get into single issues as well, because there is a comic book store not tooooo far from my neighbourhood, and I think that could be a lot of fun! But ALSO, that shit is going to start to get really expensive ugggg. I need more, but I'm broke LOL the nerd struggle is real.
SO YA, I think I may do some reviews on these series after I read more of them. Saga has a few more volumes out, so I'll probably get to those pretty soon. Rat Queens is still really new, and Volume 2 doesn't come out for a couple more weeks, but as soon as I read it I'll probably want to gush about it, sooooo that series will probably get a review as well. BUT I actually didn't really care for The Wicked + the Divine (well I didn't like the story, but the artwork was f-ing amazing) so that one, mmmm maybe not. But anyway, if you take anything from this post, it's that YOU SHOULD 100% CHECK OUT RAT QUEENS. It's fantastic. AND ALSO, Saga is pretty cool too. So ya. Go read those ones :)
